The Republican party, aka Fox News, had the avowed goal of denying President Obama a second term by any means. Despite four years of obstructionist politicking and personal attacks, they failed. Do you think they’ve learned that a purely negative approach may not have been the way to win the hearts and minds of the American people? Probably not.
So what are the Republicans going to do now?

The obstructionist here is Harry Reid. The House passed many things that the Senate was not allowed to vote on. This was done by Harry Reid specifically for people that only watch politics casually – so they they might come to the very conclusion that you have. BTW – the Senate has not passed a budget for over 3 years, and the budget that was submitted by President Obama in 2011, received NOT ONE Democrat vote.
We can only hope that things will change for the better. I’ve never seen the Republican party so far to the right. The deregulation of radio stations, I believe in the 80’s under Reagen, eliminted the requirement that equal time must be given to opposing views and helped set the stage for what we have today.
Lori doesn’t want a bunch of politics on her blog, so I shouldn’t have made my little jab. It wouldn’t be fair of me to prohibit your comments in reply, but please don’t start any back-and-forth arguments here.
Darn, I was looking forward to some entertainment this afternoon…..
Ah so I won’t start a debate. I find it heartening though, that should my family, kids, grandkids, spouse, myself, etc. need health care in the not too distant future they will be able to acquire it affordably, just like any other modern industrialized nation instead of like a third world country run by the insurance industry. I find it heartening that they should be able still to get Social Security and Medicare when of age, not a privatized program run by the mutual fund industry or a voucher program run by an insurance company.
